The Hürjet, the first Turkish-produced light combat and training fighter, successfully completed its first flight test on Tuesday. Developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), it is a single-engine supersonic flight aircraft that aims to replace the current and obsolete F-5 fleet for training flights as of 2025. Thanks to its high maneuverability and ability to strike against ground targets, the Hürjet will also support the main fleet of the Turkish Air Force, which currently consists mainly of F-16s.
