Turkish diver Şahika Ercümen breaks new world record

The famous Turkish diver Şahika Ercümen, who already holds several world records, broke yesterday a new world record for freediving (without respiratory equipment) by diving 100 metres deep off the coast of Kaş (Antalya) in a time of 2 minutes and 53 seconds. The elite athlete, who in 2019 became the first woman to free-dive in Antarctica, dedicated her new success to Turkish soldiers and the 98th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic.
