Turkey, attack against PKK/YPG in Syria

Turkey shells 50 PKK and YPG targets in Syria

Turkey’s secret services shelled and destroyed some 50 PKK and YPG targets in several Syrian cities in the last 24 hours, Turkish media reported citing national security sources, following attacks on Turkish bases in northern Iraq that left 12 Turkish soldiers dead last weekend.

According to the information provided, the National Intelligence Agency (MİT) obtained information that the equipment used in these attacks was produced in facilities that the PKK terrorist group and its Syrian affiliate, the YPG, have in the Syrian cities of Ayn al-Arab, Kamishli and Amuda; subsequently, precision airstrikes with drones were carried out against these targets in northern Syria, in which in addition to destroying critical infrastructure of the armed group, important members of the organisation were killed.
