New earthquake leaves one dead and dozens injured in Turkey

A new earthquake that reached an intensity of 5.6 degrees on the Richter scale caused at least one death and 69 injured, according to the AFAD emergency agency. The quake occurred at 12:04 local time (10:04 CET) at a depth of less than 7 kilometers, which intensified its effects, and with its epicenter in Yeşilyurt, a district just 150 kilometers from the devastating 7.8 earthquake which razed the entire southeast of Turkey on February 6, and which has already left 44,374 dead. Today’s earthquake in Malatya, one of the provinces affected by the Kahramanmaraş earthquake, caused the collapse of about thirty buildings damaged by the earthquake three weeks ago, as shown in this video recorded by a witness moments later.
