Turkey, miraculous rescue in Antakya

More miracle rescues in Turkey, 11 days after the earthquake

11 days after the earthquakes that devastated southeastern Turkey, miraculous rescues continue to take place in which, against all odds, rescuers manage to find people alive. Mustafa Avcı, 34, was rescued early this Friday in Antakya after spending 261 hours under the rubble.

Soon after, the teams also discovered another man alive, 26-year-old Mehmet Ali Şakiroğlu. One of the rescuers, at Avcı’s request, phoned Avcı’s sister to make sure that Avcı’s family was safe. When he learned that everyone had survived the earthquake, Avcı was relieved and thanked his rescuer. An hour earlier, the rescuers also found Osman, a 10-year-old boy who appeared without visible injuries, and whose trail was detected by one of the team’s dogs. All of them recover favorably at hospital.
