Turkish army launches major offensive against PKK in northern Iraq

Turkish army launched a major offensive against targets of the PKK terrorist group in the mountains of northern Iraq earlier today. The operation, baptised as “Claw-Lock”, aims to destroy the operational capacity of the armed group, which was preparing several attacks in the coming months. During the operation, Turkish fighter jets bombed more than 50 targets, and army commandos were deployed on the ground, supported by drones and helicopters. Turkey’s Defence Ministry confirmed that at least 19 terrorists were killed.
