The well-known gastronomic website TasteAtlas has placed the famous Adana kebab (Adana kebabı) in 2nd place in the list of 100 tastiest traditional dishes in the world, only behind the margarita pizza from Italy. This kebab takes its name from its city of origin (Adana, on the southern coast of Turkey), and its traditional recipe is based on minced lamb meat, to which pepper and spicy peppers are added and cooked on skewers with coal fire; once ready, the meat is served on flat bread accompanied by salad and with ayran as a drink.
