Norway suspends Quran burning after Turkey protests

Norway withdrew permission for a protest planned for tomorrow in which a copy of the Koran, the Muslim holy book, was to be burned in front of the Turkish embassy in Oslo. The measure, taken for “security reasons”, comes after the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs urgently summoned the Norwegian ambassador in Ankara to its headquarters today to convey to him the Turkish protest for tolerating an “unacceptable hate crime” that constitutes “an act of provocation”.
