An alleged meteor that crossed the night sky over Istanbul has sparked a great public and media interest in Turkey. The meteorite was captured at around 2:00 a.m. during a live recording that a witness was making for a social network; at that moment, an object is seen in the background crossing the sky and lighting up, and then falling to earth, and moments later a sort of bang can be heard: “What is that, is that lightning?” the person who recorded the phenomenon can be heard saying.
