The United States reported the detection of a second Chinese spy balloon similar to the one observed over North America, but this time flying over the skies of Latin America; although the Pentagon did not specify which Latin American country it is in, hundreds of witnesses claim to have seen it in the skies over Costa Rica. The US has cancelled the long-awaited visit of Secretary of State Antony Blinken to China for what it considers a “clear violation of his sovereignty“, while Beijing maintains that it is a civilian-use balloon diverted by mistake.
