Earthquake in Turkey: Ankara bans the export of container homes

The Turkish government issued today through its Ministry of Commerce an order prohibiting the export of all types of container homes for the next 3 months. With more than 6,500 buildings destroyed by one of the worst disasters in Turkey’s history, and tens of thousands more damaged, hundreds of thousands of people have been left homeless by the earthquakes and are in dire need of shelter. Turkish NGOs and companies have donated thousands of container houses, and Qatar has announced the shipment to Turkey of 10,000 mobile homes to meet the needs of the victims of the earthquake, which has affected 20 million people.
