The new high-speed train between Ankara and Sivas will enter into service on April 28, once Ramadan ends, the Turkish Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Adil Karaismailoğlu, announced today. The new line, which will travel at 250 kilometers per hour, will reduce the journey between Ankara and Sivas to just two hours (which until now required 12 hours by conventional railway), or one hour for the journey between Ankara and Yozgat. With a total of 8 stations – Elmadağ, Kırıkkale, Yerköy, Yozgat, Sorgun, Akdağmadeni, Yıldızeli and Sivas – the new high-speed line will serve 1.4 million people in the provinces of Kırıkkale, Yozgat and Sivas.
