During excavations at Amid Mount, the historic heart of the southeastern city of Diyarbakır, Turkish archaeologists have discovered a 1,800-year-old ancient Roman sewer system, described as “impressive” by experts. In previous excavations in this place, where Urartians, Persians, Romans, Abbasids, Seljuks and Ottomans have lived, aqueducts and tombs also from Roman era have been discovered.
