The surprising image of an astronaut walking through Diyarbakır, in Southeastern Turkey, is actually a bet by a Turkish photographer, Cengiz Kudat, to promote tourism in this province of Southeastern Anatolia. To do this, Kudat has done photo sessions of this “astronaut” in 21 different locations in the region. The intention, he assures, is to later show all these images in an exhibition in the city.
