Turkish national carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) carried 83.4 million passengers in 2023, according to data released on Monday by Turkey’s Public Information Office (KAP), indicating an increase in passenger numbers of 16.1% over the previous year. On domestic flights, passenger numbers rose by 19.1% to 30.4 million, while international flights increased by 14.4% to 53 million passengers.
The data released today also shows that the flight occupancy rate grew by 1.9 points to 82.6% in 2023, with 84.3% on domestic flights and 82.4% on international routes. Turkish Airlines, which carried 71.8 million passengers in 2022, currently flies to 340 destinations worldwide and has a fleet of 440 aircraft, both passenger and cargo, the latter operated by its subsidiary Turkish Cargo.
