Turkey’s low cost airline AJet, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines that is experiencing a rapid growth, has expanded the range of flights to its passengers with two new routes that in this case will connect Turkey with Spain, with direct flights to the cities of Barcelona and Madrid.
According to Turkish media and the company itself in a statement on its official website, the direct flights to Madrid will begin on 23 October, while in the case of Barcelona the new route will start operating one day later, on 24 October. The routes will connect both cities with the Turkish capital, Ankara.
In the case of the Ankara-Madrid connection, the route will operate three times a week – Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays – departing at 9.10 am from Ankara and at 12.50 pm from the Spanish capital. As for Barcelona, flights will operate 4 times a week – Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays – departing at 10:35 from the Turkish capital and at 13:30 from Barcelona.
“As the airline with the most domestic and international connections to Ankara, we are proud to launch two new routes,” announced AJet CEO Kerem Sarp. “With an extensive network spanning from Europe to the Caucasus, from North Africa to the Middle East, we continue to connect Ankara to the world. Our constantly growing and evolving fleet allows us to expand our reach and fly from Ankara even to new countries,” he added.
Tickets for the Ankara-Barcelona-Madrid flights are on sale since 14 August, with prices starting from 99 euros per flight. AJet, which currently flies to 29 destinations in 22 different countries, is the first airline to connect the Turkish capital with Madrid and Barcelona by direct flights.
