The Disaster Coordination Centre (AKOM) has announced the arrival of snowfall in the coming days in Istanbul, where temperatures are expected to fall by 8 to 10 degrees Celsius from this afternoon and drop below 0 degrees Celsius from Thursday, meteorologists warn.
The wintry conditions coupled with the arrival of precipitation throughout the week will, according to meteorologists, leave snowfall in the northern parts of the city and at higher altitudes. Low temperatures are expected to continue for at least the next two weeks. Meteorology experts say that, unlike 2023 when drought left Istanbul without snow, 2024 will be a year of severe winter, especially in January and February.
