A total of 72 kittens have been born so far this year at the Van cat breeding centre, located in this province in eastern Turkey. 24 Van cats have given birth to an average of 3 puppies in the first months of 2021. In addition to being famous for their white fur and two-coloured eyes – honey and blue – this breed from Turkey is known for its love for humans, so distancing and decrease in visits due to the pandemic is also affecting them psychologically.
