A huge 164-square-meter mosaic depicting the Greek mythological hero Heracles (the Roman Hercules), has been discovered by archaeologists in Turkey during excavations at the ancient city of Syedra in Antalya. The mosaic, from the 2nd century AD, has been found in the old Roman baths of the city, and shows the twelve labours of Heracles or Hercules. Historians consider this mosaic unique for its characteristics and for representing life-size human figures.
