This year Turkey is facing one of the worst droughts in recent years due to climate change, the consequences of which are also being felt in the high temperatures that the country is suffering. Phenomena such as El Niño are making their effects felt, and weather experts are already warning that 2023 will see heat records. In this case, meteorologists warn that a heat wave that entered the south of the country at the beginning of July will intensify in the coming days, also affecting the Aegean region, Central Anatolia and the Marmara. The forecast is that temperatures in these regions, including Ankara and Istanbul, will register values up to 10ºC above normal between tomorrow and Friday, so the population is asked to take extreme precautions against heat.
