Eight people died on Saturday in a private hospital in the Gaziantep province, in southeastern Turkey, after a fire broke out in an intensive care unit where COVID-19 patients were being treated. Apparently the fire originated when an oxygen cylinder exploded. Hospital sources reported that the victims are between 56 and 85 years old. ICUs in Turkey are currently at 74% occupancy due to the increase in patients because of the coronavirus pandemic.
