The decline in coronavirus positives coincides with the end of the 4-day curfew decreed throughout Turkey for New Year’s Eve.
Daily coronavirus infections in Turkey have fallen below 10,000 infections, according to the latest data provided by the Health Ministry on the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the data on the situation of the pandemic offered late yesterday, the contagion curve continues to decline and in the last 24 hours 9,877 new positive cases were registered, 1,515 of them corresponding to patients with symptoms and the rest asymptomatic. In addition, in the past 24 hours another 193 people died from COVID-19 in Turkey, raising the total death toll since the start of the pandemic to 21,488.
In the last 24 hours, 138,941 tests were carried out throughout the country, adding up to a total of 24.95 million coronavirus tests carried out to date; in addition, during the last day 10,102 COVID-19 patients were discharged after overcoming the disease. Regarding the number of patients in critical condition, the latest data also show a decrease to 3,612.
These new data are released coinciding with the end of the 4-day curfew on the occasion of the New Year’s Eve, decreed to stop the contagion of coronavirus, and which began at 9:00 p.m. on December 31 and ended this January 4 at 5:00 in the morning.
