60,000 tourists visited Cappadocia in Turkey in May

The famous Cappadocia region, one of the best known for tourism in Turkey, was visited by 60,000 tourists last May, highlighting the open-air museums of Göreme and Zelve or the underground city of Kaymaklı as the most visited places. Known for its stunning landscapes, rock-cut monasteries, underground cities, and balloon tours, Cappadocia is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was visited by some 4 million tourists a year before the pandemic.
