Beşiktaş managed to snatch third place from Trabzonspor in the closing game of the 23rd round of the Turkish league on Sunday afternoon in Istanbul, in a memorable match for Turkish striker Semih Kılıçsoy, who scored both goals as Fernando Santos‘ side beat the so-called Black Sea Storm.
The first goal came just two minutes before half-time, when Semih – his team’s top scorer in the Süper Lig – popped up on the edge of the box to collect a ball stolen by Rashica and, with a powerful left-footed shot, beat Uğurcan Çakır mercilessly. In the second half, Semir was there again in the 62nd minute as he approached the area from the left flank and beat up to four defenders, before finally beating Çakır again with a right-footed shot.
With this 2-0 win for Beşiktaş, in a match where both teams were evenly matched in terms of possession and chances but in which the Black Eagles were capable of taking advantage of their scoring chances, Trabzonspor becomes relegated to fourth place in a Super League which, for yet another matchday, Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray are levelled on points – and at a huge distance from their rivals.
