Directed by the young Turkish director Gökhan Kaya, a short film titled “Ah bir ataş ver” has already received 8 awards at national and international film festivals. The film relives one of the worst tragedies in Turkish naval history: the disaster of the Turkish submarine TGC Dumlupınar, which in 1953 sank 90 meters deep with 81 crew members on board after colliding with a freighter in the Dardanelles Strait. 22 sailors managed to survive several days in the torpedo room, but all attempts to rescue them failed. There were no survivors.
