A documentary produced in Turkey has recorded the remains of a Nazi U-20 submarine sunk 20 meters deep off the coast of Sakarya since the end of World War II, reopening the debate on whether the so-called “submarine of Hitler” should be preserved. The U-20 was part of a fleet of 6 submarines that sought Nazi control of the Black Sea, but at the end of the war they were sunk by the Germans to prevent them from falling into the hands of the Soviets.
