Beşiktaş won with a convincing 4-2 against Antalyaspor yesterday in Istanbul during the 2nd round of the Turkish League, as Mourinho’s Fenerbahçe suffered their first Super League setback with a draw at newly-promoted Göztepe in Izmir.
Despite Beşiktaş’s win, if there was one thing that particularly stood out in yesterday afternoon’s intense match at Istanbul’s Tüpraş Stadium it was the early goal scored by Paraguay’s Braian Samudio for Antalyaspor: his daring strike after just 23 seconds following a blunder by Gedson Fernandes when receiving a pass in midfield, is one of the fastest in the entire history of the Süper Lig, and the earliest since Antalyaspor plays in the top league.
The Black Eagles and their fans were hit hard, but Ciro Immobile was there to turn the score around: in just 23 minutes, the former Sevilla and Lazio player, recently arrived to the Istanbul’s team, scored twice (13th and 23rd minute): the Italian has now scored four goals in three official matches wearing the Beşiktaş shirt.
Just at the start of the second half, Samudio again came up with a superb header in the six-yard box to level things for Antalya, but the joy was short-lived: just 5 minutes later, the home side’s sustained pressure took effect, and Portuguese Rafa Silva beat Kenan Pirić (56th minute) and put Beşiktaş back in front.
To make thins worse, with 63 minutes gone Güray Vural was shown a yellow card for a nasty tackle on Silva as he went dangerously wide on the right; but the referee, after consulting the VAR, eventually gave him a straight red card, leaving the Antalya side with a player down. In stoppage time, Ernest Muçi received a great pass in midfield from Cher Ndou and again beat Pirić to make it 4-2 and keep Beşiktaş top of the Turkish league for the second week in a row.
