Beşiktaş managed to come back from a goal down in the classic derby played yesterday at the Vodafone Park stadium in Istanbul, and beat the current leader of the Turkish league, Galatasaray, thus giving wings to its immediate rival, Fenerbahçe, who won without problems in Sivas and is now only 3 points behind the Lions. Although Galatasaray scored first after 20 minutes thanks to a great goal from Argentine Mauro Icardi, Moroccan defender Romain Saiss equalized the score at minute 35 with a header from a corner kick, and in minute 58 Amir Hadziahmetovic put the Black Eagles ahead after an unforgivable mistake by the Galata’s defense. The final goal, already in discount, came with Aboubakar, with a solo play that unleashed euphoria in the stadium. A result that, with 6 weeks to go in the Super League season, not only boosts Fenerbahçe but also puts Beşiktaş back in the title race.
