The strong storm of wind and rain that hit all of western Turkey yesterday, causing 4 deaths and about 50 injured, left impressive images overnight in coastal cities such as Gemlik, in Bursa province, where giant waves penetrated dozens of metres inland, devastating promenade and flooding shops and homes, leaving scenes typical of a tsunami.
