Croatia, earthquake in Zagreb

Croatia suffers its worst earthquake in 140 years

A 5.3-magnitude earthquake rocked Croatia with an epicentre just a few kilometres from the capital Zagreb over the weekend, causing dozens of injuries and major damage to hundreds of buildings, including the parliament and the iconic cathedral of Zagreb, whose mayor asked citizens to calm down and maintain the safe distance because of the coronavirus. “We are facing two serious crises: the earthquake and the epidemic,” said the Croatian interior minister.
