Azerbaijan celebrated with a large military parade, in which thousands of people filled the streets of the capital, Baku, the first anniversary of its victory over Armenia and the liberation of the Karabakh region, occupied since the war between the two countries in the 1990s, which caused the flight of a million Azerbaijani refugees and an unprecedented ethnic cleansing and cultural destruction, devastating Armenians entire cities like Ağdam, called the “Hiroshima of the Caucasus“.
