YPG terrorist behind Istanbul attack dies in Syria

Turkish media reported this Friday that the Turkish intelligence (National Intelligence Organization, or MİT in Turkish) would have killed Halil Menci in Syria; an active member of the YPG (the Syrian branch of the PKK terrorist group), he is one of the terrorists who planned the attack on İstiklal Avenue in Istanbul perpetrated on November 13, 2022, in which 6 people died. Menci would have died in a “precision operation” in the Syrian city of Qamishli, on the border with Turkey, where he had been under surveillance by MİT for some time. Menci reportedly organized and assisted the perpetrators of the attack, identified as Ahlam Albashir and his accomplice Bilal Hassan, and later provided them with the means to escape from Turkey.
