According to the latest employment data, the unemployment rate in Turkey stands at 12.7%, thus decreasing by 1.1%.
Unemployment in Turkey fell below 13% last September, according to the latest data on unemployment in the Eurasian country released this Thursday by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), showing a drop of 1.1% compared to the previous year.
According to the information published by TÜİK, the unemployment rate in Turkey stood at 12.7% in September; the number of unemployed aged 15 or over fell by 550,000 people in relation to the same month of 2019 to 4.16 million, and non-agricultural unemployment fell 1.5 points compared to last year to reach 14.9%, indicate the statistical data.
As for the youth unemployment rate in Turkey, which includes job seekers aged 15-24, it fell by 1.8% in September to 24.3%. On the other hand, the unemployment rate of the group between 15 and 64 years of age fell by 1.2 percentage points to 12.9%.
