Turkish economy grew at 4% in the first quarter of 2023

Turkish economy grew 4% during the first quarter of 2023, according to official data published this Wednesday, confirming that Turkey’s GDP was affected by the devastating earthquakes last February; even so, the growth figure exceeds many of the forecasts of economists, who in most cases expected a GDP increase of less than 4%. Commenting on these data, the Treasury and Finance minister Nureddin Nebati underlined Turkey’s commitment to investment, production and employment despite the internal and external difficulties facing the economy, and also announced that the unemployment during the first quarter in Turkey has fallen below 10%.
