Azerbaijan's soldier in Karabakh

At least 5 dead in new clashes between Armenia and Azerbaijan

New border clashes in the Karabakh region between Armenia and Azerbaijan left at least 5 dead on Sunday, two of them among Azeri forces. The incident reportedly occurred when Azerbaijani soldiers stopped a convoy suspected of carrying weapons traveling on an unauthorized roan from Armenia to Karabakh, official government sources in Baku said, when they were fired upon from the Armenian side of the border. For its part, the Armenian press reported three Armenian policemen were killed in the exchange of fire. In a statement, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reminded Russian peacekeepers in the region that the only authorized route to connect Armenia with Karabakh is the so-called Lachin corridor.
