The ranking was as follows:

  3. Swiss International Air Lines
  4. British Airways
  5. Lufthansa
  6. Virgin Atlantic

The Turkish airline’s CEO, Bilal Ekşi, expressed his satisfaction with this new recognition in comments on social media: “We are the champions of Europe. Turkish Airlines is the best airline in Europe. Thank you for your praise”.

Turkish Airlines, which has recently been in the news for its acquisition of a stake in Spanish airline Air Europa, also won other awards from Skytrax, including World’s Best Business Class Catering and Best Airline in Southern Europe: this brings the Turkish airline’s total number of awards to eight this year.
