A goal by Trézéguet a few minutes before the end of the match saved the game in Sivas for Trabzonspor, who could at least leave the Anatolian city with a draw and a point, but still dropped to 5th place in the Turkish league standings. Samu Saiz opened the scoring for Sivaspor after just four minutes, and after 20 minutes Albanian Rey Manaj increased the lead to 2-0. Nicolas Pépé pulled one back in the 39th minute, and in the final seconds of the first half, Onuachu equalised.
In the second half, the Albanian striker again put the Sivas side ahead, 67 minutes after the start of the league match at the Sivas 9th September New Stadium, with a powerful shot from just outside the box that hit the crossbar. Less than 10 minutes later, Trézéguet intervened to bring Trabzonspor back into the game, scoring a goal that was protested by the home fans for alleged offside. A draw that keeps the Black Sea Storm levelled on 22 points with Kayserispor (6th) and Adana Demirspor (4th), but a long way behind the leader, Fenerbahçe, who has 34 points after beating VavaCars Fatih Karagümrük on Sunday.
