The long-awaited snow that many Turks had been waiting for weeks to alleviate the drought has finally arrived abundantly in several areas of Turkey, especially in the mountainous regions of the center and east of the country. In provinces like Kayseri the snow has reached 60 cm. thick filling the ski resort of Mount Erciyes. The negative side of the snowfall is the difficult traffic on the roads: the Konya-Antalya highway had to be closed last night due to snow accumulations of up to 30 cm.
