Qazel Yadegari, a 22-year-old Iranian model, was detained at her luxury residence in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul where she lived with a Persian lion cub and a python as pets, something that is prohibited by law in Turkey. The young woman admitted having bought for $ 9,000 the cub, which was brought into the country illegally. Turkish police, who had been investigating an online wildlife trafficking network for a long time, discovered the young woman through photos that she herself shared on her social networks with the animals.
