The so-called Hell’s Gate, located among the ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis, built on the terraces of Pamukkale, opened yesterday for the first time in history to the public. In ancient times, this place was an important center of pilgrimage because, according to legend, the god Hades spent half the year over the earth and the other half in the underworld, and it was believed that to access hell he entered each year through this door.
