Greece, anti fascist protests in Athens

Clashes in Greece between anti-fascist protesters and police

The capital of Greece, Athens, experienced scenes of chaos yesterday after thousands of protesters from anti-fascist groups confronted the police during a rally against the far-right Golden Dawn party, once the third largest political force in the Greek parliament. The protests coincide with the verdict of a court that found the party’s founder, Nikos Mihaloliakos, and other prominent leaders guilty of running a criminal organisation and ordering numerous crimes, including the murder of rapper Pavlos Fyssas.
