Many users of the M2 line between Yenikapı and Hacıosman in the Istanbul metro, met yesterday a great surprise after seeing an astronaut using public transport, something that left many passengers speechless. “At first I did not understand what was happening, you do not see someone in an astronaut suit in the subway every day,” said a passenger. “When I saw him, I first thought he was a robot… I was dumbfounded,” confessed another. Apparently the astronaut, with whom some passengers – after the initial surprise – took photos and selfies, is part of a promotional campaign about an event to be held in Istanbul: something reminiscent of the mysterious monolith that appeared a few months ago next to Göbeklitepe.
