Some 15,000 people attended the concert that the Presidential Symphony Orchestra offered last Friday in the historic Roman theatre located in the ruins of the ancient city of Laodicea, 2,200 years old and located not far from the terraces of Pamukkale, west of Turkey. Soprano Görkem Ezgi Yıldırım and tenor Mert Süngü performed several works under the baton of conductor Rengim Gökmen. The restoration of the Laodicea theatre, whose ruins are candidates to be declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, was completed in 2021 after two years of work in order to give it back its use as a cultural space.
