The energy and natural resources minister confirmed that Turkey has taken a decision to suspend all energy projects with Israel until the Hebrew government agrees to a ceasefire in Gaza. “In such a climate, in an atmosphere of such enormous brutality, with such a human drama (in Gaza), it would be disrespectful to humanity, to our humanity, to our brothers and sisters there (in Palestine), to talk about any projects (with Israel),” Alparslan Bayraktar told during an interview with a Turkish broadcaster.
“The only thing we will talk about at this moment is how we can meet the electricity, water and food needs of Gaza. This could be possible. That would be the only project with Israel,” the minister insisted. “We have sent generators, they are waiting at the Rafah crossing… We are studying how we can contribute with floating power plants and mobile power plants,” added Alparslan, who reiterated, however, that it is impossible to discuss any other projects with Israel until there is a ceasefire.
