Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan announced on Wednesday a cut in gas and electricity prices starting in April, less than two months before the presidential and parliamentary elections in Turkey. The cut will be 15% in the price of electricity for all sectors and users, and 20% in gas for industry, Erdoğan said in a speech before deputies from his AKP party in Ankara. In subsequent statements to the press, the Turkish president also confirmed that in the coming months there will possibly be a new rise in the minimum wage, which had already tripled throughout 2022 due to high inflation.
