Images captured by the Turkish Göktürk 1 and 2 satellites show how the effects of the wave of wildfires sweeping Turkey are seen from space. In recent days, 174 wildfires have been declared in 39 provinces fuelled by an intense heat wave, causing 8 fatalities; 160 fires have been controlled, but those that are still active in the south of the country are of concern, especially in the provinces of Antalya and Muğla. Turkish president thanked yesterday for the help provided by several countries, including extinction planes sent by Croatia, Spain, Ukraine, Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan.
