Sofia Olifrenko, a 24-year-old Russian model, mysteriously died in Istanbul after falling from the roof of a hotel in the Şişli district, where the model had registered under a false name, in what could initially be a suicide case. A Turkish man accompanying her was briefly detained by the police; in his testimony, F.K. stated that the young woman had consumed a lot of alcohol, and that after going to the room, she got out of bed for no reason, walked to the hotel roof, and jumped. Istvan Sarkozy, also a model and Olifrenko’s husband, expressed his dismay on Instagram: “You are the best thing that ever happened to me, and now you are gone forever.”
