The State Meteorological Agency of Turkey has issued a yellow weather alert for 10 provinces – including Istanbul – due to the arrival of storms accompanied by heavy rains that will especially affect western Turkey, with a high risk of flooding and landslides in these regions. Authorities warn of a sharp drop in temperatures in the Marmara region and in Istanbul, with a high probability of storms accompanied by lightning and hail in the provinces of Aydın, Balıkesir, Bursa, Çanakkale, Edirne, İzmir, Kırklareli, Kutahya, Manisa and Tekirdağ.
