The famous Empire State Building skyscraper in New York was illuminated this week with the red and white colors of the Turkish flag, one month after the devastating 7.8 and 7.6 earthquakes in southeastern Turkey on February 6 that left more than 46,000 dead. The gesture was agreed with the building’s property company at the initiative of Turkish Airlines and the Turkish Consulate General in New York.
