New Yorkers spending Saturday in New York’s Central Park were surprised to see Turkey’s president, Tayyip Erdoğan, leisurely strolling through the area. Many used the occasion to take a photo with him or even to thank him for his efforts for peace in Ukraine. Erdoğan, who is in New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly, walked accompanied by the Turkish ambassador in Washington and the Turkish representative to the United Nations.
